FROM THE CHAIR

Postcard Body

"Many of you were starting your studies when the pandemic hit, which made them not like anything you or we expected.  But together we managed, and here you are,” stated Mark Horowitz, Yahoo! Founders Professor in the School of Engineering and department Chair

"You are truly an extraordinary group. Not only because of all of your academic achievements and hard work, but also because you have shown incredible strength, resilience, and dedication through all the challenges of the past few years. It is this resilience, along with your education, which will serve you well moving forward.”
Continuing, he shared two pieces of advice,

  • Stay curious about the world and be willing to take some chances.

  • Remember that we all have much more in common than we are different.

STUDENT SPEAKER

Postcard Body

Sara Davidova (MS ’24) shared her lessons on the privilege of being a student, the beauty of being a teacher, and the fun of being in all of it together with your friends.

“...what makes the Electrical Engineering program truly outstanding is its propensity to build strong friendships. I am not sure if it is the shared struggle, or if there is some other magic about the major, but I can attest to you that every single one of us here has made the strongest bonds while despairing over dysfunctional circuits, misbehaving code, or a particularly brutal pset."

Congratulations to all of our graduates! And thank you to all their family and friends for joining us in honoring their accomplishments.
