Did You Know?
The MS program in Electrical Engineering leads to a terminal degree. Students who wish to enter the PhD program must apply through the general PhD admission process.
• Applications are reviewed on an annual basis for autumn quarter start only.
• December 6, 2024 is the application deadline for Autumn 2025-2026.
• MS students complete 45 units of study based on an individually designed course plan that satisfies the department's depth, breadth, and technical course requirements. There is no thesis requirement.
• Typical completion time for the MS degree is 1.5-2 years for full-time students.
• Applications are reviewed on an annual basis for autumn quarter start only.

Knight-Hennessy Scholars
The Knight-Hennessy Scholars program is designed to build a interdisciplinary community of Stanford graduate students dedicated to finding creative solutions to the world's greatest challenges. The program awards up to 100 high-achieving students every year with full funding to pursue a graduate education at Stanford, including the M.S. and Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering. To be considered, you must apply to Knight-Hennessy Scholars application deadline, and separately apply to the Electrical Engineering department.
