First EE Courses at Stanford
1892 - One year after the university opens, Physics Professor A.P. Carman is among the first to teach courses that address topics such as electrical currents and magnetism.
EE Taught as a Subject
1893 - The new program of study centered on the design and construction of central generating plants for electricity. F.A.C. Perrine is the first Stanford professor to teach the subject of EE.
EE Department Established
1894 - EE had previously been part of Physics and Mechanical Engineering.
