Full-Time Graduate Programs
PhD
Our research-intensive program cultivates the next generation of leaders in academia and industry. EE doctoral students work alongside faculty, fellow students, and researchers who are leaders in their disciplines.
MS
The master's degree program in Electrical Engineering provides advanced preparation for professional practice through a highly customizable, coursework-based curriculum.
Joint Degree Programs
Joint degree programs enable students to pursue two degrees simultaneously. The Department of Electrical Engineering offers an MS in Electrical Engineering/MBA Degree Program (MS/MBA) and a Juris Doctor/MS in Electrical Engineering Degree Program (JD/MS).
Part-Time Graduate Programs
Part-Time MS
The Honors Cooperative Program (HCP) enables qualified working professionals to pursue the MS in Electrical Engineering on a part-time basis. Many classes are offered online, and it is possible to complete the MS degree requirements entirely from a distance.
Non-Degree Option
The Non-Degree Option (NDO) makes it possible for qualified working professionals to enroll in Stanford graduate-level classes on a course-by-course basis.
Programs for Current Students
Coterminal Program
The coterminal degree program allows Stanford undergraduate students to pursue the Master of Science in Electrical Engineering while completing their undergraduate program.
Adding the MS
Doctoral students enrolled in a related department at Stanford may apply to pursue the MS in Electrical Engineering to complement their PhD program.
