Koosha Nassiri Nazif (EE PhD) and Alex Shearer (ChemE PhD, EE minor) have been named Breakthrough Energy Fellows. Breakthrough Energy aims to inspire the e world to develop and scale the critical solutions needed to reach net-zero emissions—so everyone can enjoy affordable, abundant clean energy. Dr. Koosha Nassiri Nazif is a post-doctoral researcher in the Pop Lab, and Alex Shearer is a PhD candidate and a researcher in the Bent Research Group.

Koosha and Alexander are reimagining solar energy, with their company Arinna, Inc. The Breakthrough Energy (BE) Fellowship provides technical support, funding, and business resources to innovators working on technologies in industries that are notoriously hard to decarbonize. This in-depth, hands-on support allows BE Fellows to quickly move their climate technology breakthroughs from the lab to the market, bridging the gap between innovation and implementation.

Please join us in congratulating Koosha, Alexander, and the cohort of 2024 Breakthrough Energy Fellows!
