Join the Stanford Cancer Institute on Tuesday, June 11, 4-5 p.m., at Munzer Auditorium, Beckman Center, or via Zoom, for a presentation by Barbara Bierer, MD, director of the Regulatory Foundations, Law and Ethics Program of the Harvard Catalyst, the Harvard Clinical and Translational Science Award, and the director of regulatory policy, SMART IRB.

Dr. Bierer co-founded and now leads the Multi-Regional Clinical Trials Center of BWH and Harvard, a university-wide and collaborative effort to improve the ethics, conduct, and regulatory environment for multi-site, multi-national clinical trials. She is a co-founder of the COVID-19 Collaboration Platform, a platform for cooperation in research.

The learning objectives of her talk are to: Identify barriers to the participation of minoritized populations in research Identify practical and actionable opportunities to improve representation in clinical research Propose and advocate for institutional action and support to increase representativeness in clinical research Review the National Action Plan for Achieving Diversity in Clinical Research
