Fouad Tobagi awarded the 2024 ACM SIGMOBILE Outstanding Contribution Award
His citation reads, ‘for seminal development of Carrier Sense Multiple Access (CSMA) as a widely used fundamental mechanism for efficient wireless transmission.'
Congratulations to Professor Fouad Tobagi on receiving the 2024 ACM SIGMOBILE Outstanding Contribution Award. The SIGMOBILE Outstanding Contribution Award is given for significant and lasting contributions to the research on mobile computing and communications and wireless networking. His citation reads, ‘for seminal development of Carrier Sense Multiple Access (CSMA) as a widely used fundamental mechanism for efficient wireless transmission.'
Fouad's research focuses on network control mechanisms for handling multimedia traffic and on the performance assessment of networked multimedia applications. Fouad joins previous Stanford EE recipients Andrea Goldsmith (2022) and Teresa Meng (2018).
