Gordon Wetzstein awarded the 2024 Otto Schade Prize
His citation reads 'For the advancement of varifocal, light field, and holographic near-eye display technologies optimizing perceptual realism and visual comfort for virtual and augmented reality systems.'
Congratulations to professor Gordon Wetzstein! He has been awarded the 2024 Otto Schade Prize from the Society of Information Display (SID).
Gordon's citation reads "For the advancement of varifocal, light field, and holographic near-eye display technologies optimizing perceptual realism and visual comfort for virtual and augmented reality systems."
The Otto Schade Prize is awarded for an outstanding scientific or technical achievement in, or contribution to, the advancement of functional performance and/or image quality of information displays. The award is made by the Board of Directors acting on the recommendation of the Honors and Awards Committee and carries a stipend of US $5000.
