Tony Heinz elected to National Academy of Sciences (NAS)
In recognition of distinguished and continuing achievements in original research.
Congratulations to Professor Tony Heinz on being elected to National Academy of Sciences (NAS). Tony's research has centered on the elucidation of the properties and dynamics of nanoscale materials through the application of a wide range of optical spectroscopies. His research on surfaces, interfaces, and nanoscale materials, such as carbon nanotubes, graphene and other 2D materials, has been recognized by Optics Prize of the International Commission for Optics, a Research Award of the von Humboldt Foundation, the Julius Springer Prize for Applied Physics, and the Isakson Prize of the American Physical Society.
Members are elected to the National Academy of Sciences in recognition of their distinguished and continuing achievements in original research. Membership is a widely accepted mark of excellence in science and is considered one of the highest honors that a scientist can receive.
Please join us in congratulating Tony on this well-deserved recognition.
